It was only a few months ago that entrepreneur extraordinaire and tallow producer Freddy De Vettige explored the idea of a new Belgian cycling team and today, one month after its creation, he and the team behind WelchAllyn can be proud of the achievements already produced by the young team.
In just a few weeks captain Bernard Wolfs succeeded in capturing victories in Poland (Poznan - Poznan), Lithuania (Plunge - Palanga) as well as the Finnish Pori - Kaanaa race.
Veteran Hallur Sigtýrsson of the Faroe Islands was quickly attracted to the team and also scored an easy win at the English Chatham Streetsrace.
Other notable newcomers are Aras Kerim with a first place at the Norwegian Bryne - Varhaug race, as well as Christophe Nyirahabimana with a victory at the Hungarian Hajdú-Bihar YFI cobbleroads.
The spokesman of Freddy confirms the team will try to keep up their initial momentum. However, Freddy also announces an extended period of training for his new young recruits to strengthen the newfangled team and hopes to gain some victories in homeland Belgium in the upcoming season.
